If you purchased a house through a Home Builder or bought one from someone who did, you may be familiar with "Builder Basic Carpet." You know, it's usually a lighter colored neutral with a short life span. . . The kind you know you're going to have to replace at some point.

It's one of our strongest sources of business, so we're not here to knock it. But, "builder's grade" carpet is typically a very economical option that lasts about 5 years maximum in an occupied home.

If you only want to replace the carpet in the rooms where the carpet is in the worst condition, make sure you know the exact carpet that was used. It's very difficult to get a match that's close enough.
