Customers frequently ask us which carpet is the most stain-proof. The answer is always the same, "The carpet that is cared for properly!"  Yes, there are stain resistant carpets designed to last a lifetime which allows time for stains to be removed. But, there are 3 things that you must do if you want your carpet to last:

1. Remove stains correctly
2. Use a good Vacuum to clean regularly
3. Schedule professional carpet cleanings per the manufacturer's instructions

When something spills on your carpet, follow these steps:

SCRAPE
Remove as much of the spill as possible, using a flat knife or spoon
ABSORB gently blot wet spills with a clean, white cloth
BLOT do not ever rub or scurb, or your carpet could frizz and become fuzzy. Instead, start from the outside and blot toward the center.
RINSE follow up with water to remove any residue that could cause the spot to attract soil
APPLY WEIGHT remove any moisture from the area that was cleaned by placing something heavy on top of towels. Be sure that the heavy object will not transfer color.  A clear water jug or heavy aluminum can are good examples.
